About This Workshop: This is a six-week educational workshop for teens ages 14–17. It is not therapy. There is no diagnosis, no treatment plan, and no clinical record.
Our goal is to give teens real, accurate information and practical skills so they can understand their emotions, recognize healthy and unhealthy relationships, and make informed decisions grounded in their own voice and values.
Workshop Schedule:
Week 1 (Oct 12): Getting comfortable. Introductions, group agreements, and building a feelings vocabulary.
Week 2 (Oct 19): Self-esteem and the masks we wear. What sits beneath surface emotions, and emotional safety.
Week 3 (Oct 26): Your nervous system. Stress, anger, and coping skills that work in real moments.
Week 4 (Nov 2): Relationships, dating, and boundaries. Details below.
Week 5 (Nov 9): Consent, intimacy, and body boundaries. Details below.
Week 6 (Nov 16): What you're taking with you. Values, reflection, and celebration.
Weeks 4 & 5: Please Read Carefully These two sessions include direct, honest conversation about dating, relationships, sex, and consent. Our emphasis is on emotional understanding, recognizing unhealthy relationships, and helping teens find their voice and values. We share medically accurate information. We do not give instructional ("how-to") sexual content.
Week 4 will cover:
Red, yellow, and green flags in relationships
Recognizing controlling and abusive dynamics, compared with healthy, equal relationships
Communicating boundaries and listening to other people's boundaries
Opening an anonymous question box for Week 5
Week 5 will cover:
Consent, body boundaries, and how to communicate them, both verbally and nonverbally
The emotional side of intimacy, including deciding what feels right based on your own values rather than pressure
Contraception and STI prevention, including abstinence
Pregnancy concerns, including miscarriage, and where to find medical care and trusted support
Online safety: sexting and sharing photos (including Florida law), catfishing, and the myth that disappearing messages are safe
How pornography differs from real relationships
Clarifying terms teens hear from peers
Identifying a safe adult to go to with questions
Anonymous questions, which facilitators screen and answer only when they fall within the workshop's educational scope
We will not:
Show explicit images or media
Encourage sexual activity
Share facilitators' personal views on values-based topics
We encourage teens to bring these conversations home. Before Week 4, we'll send parents a detailed outline of what will be covered.
Confidentiality What teens share stays in the group so they can speak honestly. The exception: our facilitators are mandated reporters under Florida law. If we have concerns about abuse, neglect, or risk of harm to self or others, we will act on them, and you will be contacted as appropriate.
Otherwise, we'll share general themes and skills so you can reinforce them at home.
