Hi there! I’m Mackenzie, a therapist at Harlowe Counseling. I strive to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel safe to be themselves and find their voice. I am passionate about helping individuals strengthen their sense of self, navigate life’s challenges, and feel empowered in their growth. My goal is to walk alongside clients with compassion, authenticity, and encouragement.
My approach to therapy is eclectic, meaning I tailor each session to meet your unique needs and where you are on your journey. I primarily work from a person-centered approach, creating a supportive and collaborative space where you feel heard and understood.
Along the way, we may use tools from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns, or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to build acceptance, flexibility, and a healthier relationship with difficult emotions.
You can expect our session to last about an hour, either in office or via telehealth using Simple Practice. During our first few sessions, we will spend time exploring your goals, concerns, and personal history while building trust and comfort within the therapeutic relationship.
From there, we will work collaboratively toward the goals that feel most meaningful to you. In every session, you can expect warmth, compassion, and a supportive space where you feel safe to share openly and authentically
I encourage you to show up as your full, unfiltered self, creating space to explore who you are without judgment or pressure to be anything else.
I prioritize creating a secure, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.
I consider the whole person - your experiences, environment, and identity - when supporting your growth and healing.
I honor your unique story and tailor therapy to what feels most helpful and authentic for you.
